Terms of Use

1. About the service

Passvarsel is an independent alert service that monitors available passport appointments and notifies you when a slot matching your preferences appears. The service is available on iOS, Android, and web.

The service is not free. Access is provided for a small one-time fee with no recurring subscription.

Passvarsel is not affiliated with, approved by, or otherwise connected to the Norwegian Police Directorate, Norwegian police, or other public authorities. Booking is completed directly on official police pages.

2. Who can use the service

Passvarsel can be used by anyone needing to book a passport appointment in Norway. You confirm that you:

• are at least 16 years old, or have guardian consent
• provide correct contact details
• use the service only for lawful purposes
• do not use the service on behalf of others without their knowledge

3. What the service does - and does not do

Passvarsel alerts you about available passport appointments. We:

• do not book appointments on your behalf
• do not guarantee availability when you click through
• have no control over police booking systems, capacity, or opening times
• are not responsible for errors or changes in police booking platforms

The time window between detecting an appointment and sending an alert can vary. There is no guarantee you will secure the slot.

4. User responsibilities

You are responsible for:

• keeping your contact details correct and up to date
• completing booking directly with police services
• attending your appointment according to police terms
• not misusing the service to generate unnecessary traffic toward police systems

5. Availability and uptime

We aim for continuous service, but cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability. Outages may occur due to maintenance, technical issues, or changes in police booking systems.

We reserve the right to modify, pause, or discontinue the service. We will provide notice when practical for planned changes.

6. Intellectual property

All content in the Passvarsel app and website - including design, text, logo, and code - belongs to Passvarsel and is protected by copyright. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive right to use the service for personal, non-commercial use.

You may not copy, sell, license, or distribute the service or parts of it without written permission.

7. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

Passvarsel is provided "as is" without warranties. To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim liability for:

• lost appointment opportunities or consequences of delayed/missing alerts
• errors, inaccuracies, or interruptions in the service
• changes in police booking systems affecting functionality
• indirect damages, loss of data, or loss of income

Our total liability to any single user is limited to the amount paid for the service.

8. Changes to terms

We may update these terms as needed. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

9. Governing law and venue

These terms are governed by Norwegian law. Disputes should first be attempted resolved amicably; if not, venue is Oslo District Court.

10. App Store og Google Play

The Passvarsel app is distributed through Apple App Store and Google Play. Apple Inc. and Google LLC are not parties to these terms and have no obligations toward you regarding Passvarsel. Any app-related claims must be directed to Passvarsel.
